Template:TIQBCH2Question 75 from The Impossible Quiz Book is the twenty-fifth question of Chapter 2, and the fifth one that belongs in the section of the game inspired by the Retro era of video games. After correctly answering the previous question, the Phlovomite's Guide to the Galaxy will once again change the channel like it was a TV, going back to the Retro-styled graphics that represent this era.

Upon getting here, the layer will be presented with a random mathematical operation containing numbers written in their binary form (that is, represented by different successions of 0's and 1's); it's a completely different operation every time the player gest here, and there are eight possible variations, which could either be an addition, a subtraction, a multiplication or a division.

As such, what the player must do here is to choose the correct answer to this question, always keeping in mind that he/she is working with the binary numerical system, not the decimal one the player probably used to. This means that if you add a 1 to another 1, the result will not be 2, but rather 0, carrying 1. An alternative way of solving these operations would be to translate each binary number in the task and the options to its decimal equivalent, and then solving normally, though it's a bit more time-consuming.

Options that have 2's on them can be completely discarded, since the binary numerical system only uses 1's and 0's.

Below are the seven possible variations of this question, as well as their decimal system equivalent between parentheses. If the player for some reason are interested in seeing the rest of the options of each variation, there is a gallery below this list containing pictures of them.

  • 1001 + 0110 = 001111 (9 + 6 = 15)
  • 01001101 + 10000000 = "1101101" (77 + 128 = "109")
  • 10 + 10 = 100 (2 + 2 = 4)
  • 11011 - 01010 = 10001 (27 - 10 = 17)
  • 10000 x 00010 = 100000 (16 x 2 = 32)
  • 11111 + 01001 = 101000 (31 + 9 = 40)
  • 1000110 / 0000010 = 0100011 (70 / 2 = 35)

Variation 2 Note: The in-game answer is written incorrectly, missing a zero. The proper calculation is: 01001101 + 10000000 = 11001101 (77 + 128 = 205)

If the player answers incorrectly, he/she will lose a life (or the lifebuoy) as usual, but the operation on screen and its options will be changed to a different one. If the player answers correctly, he/she will proceed right away.Template:RP
