Question 144 of The Impossible Quiz Book is the forty-fourth question of the third chapter, and this time you're once again taken to the era of The Impossible Quiz; however, while it was probably meant to be referencing a specific question, the lava that started flowing two questions ago is beginning to increase its reach, incinerating the lower part of the screen.

In the middle of this scenario, there are two option boxes sinking into the lava; however, rather than having stuff written on them, they have faces, and they seem to be screaming in agony as they helplessly drown into the flowing magma. The question itself, rather than asking you something, acts like it joined the option boxes in their suffering, saying "WHY? JUST... WHY?". Meanwhile, the question number falls from its usual spot and gets carried away by the lava, as a 5-second bomb threatens to end your game right here, and the Fusestopper won't wake up in this question.

The terrified option boxes are still clickable, but neither of them are correct. What you have to do is to type one single letter, as told by the question's message: "Y" ("just... Y?"). Press the "Y" key on your keyboard, and you'll proceed the next question.

Trivia[]

  • Similarly to Question 105, the question message is written in black, rather than the usual blue found in questions from the first quiz.
  • There are a handful of questions in this Quiz that require you to press a single key on your keyboard to proceed, namely:
    • Question 8, from Chapter 1: Press H (the seventh letter of "the alphabet").
    • Question 17, from Chapter 1: Press C ("sea").
    • Question 32, from Chapter 1: Press M (the answer to the riddle).
    • Question 35, from Chapter 1: Press P ("pee").
    • Question 76, from Chapter 2: Press U ("ewe").
    • Question 133, from Chapter 3: Press W ("double ewe").
  • The Impossible Quiz 2 also has many questions where you only need to press one key:
    • Question 7: Press the right arrow key ("Use the right key!").
    • Question 27: Press 1 ("Quick! Press one!").
    • Question 58: Press the Space bar (the scenario is set in space).
    • Question 86: Press U (the letter after T in the alphabet).
